Taiwan's Top Trading Partners
China- Has become Taiwan's top trade partner with almost 40% of the islands exports heading for China. They mostly export electronics, electronical equipment, raw materials, ect. On June 29, 2010 Taiwan signed a trade agreement with China allowing them to export 539 different categories of goods to China with reduced tariff, worth 13.8 billion dollars annually. Experts say that this move will boost Taiwan's GDP by 4.5% by the year 2020.
Japan- Is Taiwan's second largest trade partner and recieves large amounts of imports from Japan such as electronics, automobiles, and information technology. Both Japan and China are very close to Taiwan which makes importing and exporting goods cheaper because they use less gas. Also all three countries are considered part of South East Asia which makes it easy to send and recieve goods in short periods of time.
